We've eaten at over 40 Thai restaurants across Dubai to produce this list. Updated quarterly, it covers every tier from the city's finest hotel dining rooms to the hole-in-the-wall canteens that the Thai community actually frequents. Each restaurant has been visited at least twice. These are our honest verdicts β no sponsored placements, no exceptions.
The World-Class Tier
These three restaurants represent the absolute pinnacle of Thai dining in Dubai. Exceptional cooking, impeccable service, and settings that justify the price.
Pai Thai β Jumeirah Al Qasr
Dubai's most iconic Thai restaurant needs no introduction to serious diners. Accessed by abra (traditional wooden boat) across the Madinat waterways, Pai Thai combines one of the most beautiful restaurant settings on Earth with cooking that is genuinely world-class. The menu is long but disciplined β every dish is executed with precision and care, from the starter satay (AED 85) to the gloriously fragrant massaman lamb curry (AED 105).
Thai Kitchen β Park Hyatt Dubai
The less photographed but arguably more culinarily rigorous of Dubai's top two Thai restaurants. The Park Hyatt's Thai Kitchen is obsessively focused on Central Thai cooking authenticity. Curry pastes are made fresh daily from ingredients sourced partly from Thailand itself. The result is a fragrance and depth in every curry that is simply not achievable with commercial pastes. The whole seabass with three sauces (AED 175) is essential.
Baan Thai β Dusit Thani Dubai
The Dusit Thani is a Thai brand hotel, which gives Baan Thai a unique advantage: it draws on the parent company's deep culinary heritage and network of Thai suppliers. The result is cooking that leans towards Royal Thai traditions β refined, beautifully presented, and technically impeccable. The pomelo salad with shrimp (AED 85) is the finest version of this dish in the city.
Sukhothai β Le MΓ©ridien Dubai Hotel
A Dubai institution that has been serving excellent Thai food since 1999. The cooking here is reliable, warm and honest β there's no molecular gastronomy, no Instagram theatrics, just well-executed traditional Thai dishes at prices that are genuinely fair. The Friday Thai brunch (AED 195, including beverages) remains one of the city's best brunch deals.
SpiceClub β Dubai Marina Walk
SpiceClub occupies a smart terrace position on the Marina Walk and punches above its price point. The menu spans Thai and Southeast Asian broadly, but the Thai dishes shine brightest. The laksa (AED 58) uses a genuine rempah base β you can taste the work that went into it. Book a terrace table for sunset and you'll leave very happy.
Mango Tree β Gate Village, DIFC
Mango Tree's DIFC location benefits from the foot traffic of one of Dubai's most affluent dining districts. The menu is accessible and well-executed β not the most adventurous Thai cooking in the city, but consistently reliable for both lunches and dinners. The pad krapow (AED 82) with its aromatic holy basil is a standout.
Thai Orchid β Jumeirah Beach Road
A family-friendly institution on Jumeirah Beach Road with a loyal local following built over 15+ years. The cooking here is warm, comforting, and reliably good β not groundbreaking, but exactly what you want when craving an honest pad thai or a green curry with fragrant jasmine rice. Children's menu available.
Sawadee Thai Restaurant β Al Karama
This is where the Thai expat community eats on weeknights. No ambiance to speak of, no Instagram moments β just honest, neighbourhood Thai cooking that tastes exactly like Bangkok street food. The boat noodles (AED 32) and the nam tok (grilled pork salad, AED 55) are remarkable at this price point.
Krua Thai β Bur Dubai
Small, family-run, and deeply authentic. Krua Thai doesn't advertise β its regulars keep it full. The som tam (green papaya salad, AED 38) is bracingly spicy and perfectly balanced. Go hungry and order widely.
Bangkok Garden β Al Barsha
Spacious, relaxed, and capable of handling large groups with ease. Bangkok Garden's wok section is the highlight β the pad kee mao (drunken noodles, AED 58) and the pad see ew both achieve a proper smoky wok hei that's rare outside professional Thai kitchens.
