A 1.7km promenade (The Walk) runs parallel to one of the city's most popular urban beaches, flanked by The Beach, an open-air mall built directly on the sand. Eat Greek Kouzina
Our top pick at The Beach. A casual, cheerful Greek spot with outdoor tables that face directly onto the Arabian Gulf. The food is unpretentious and excellent: fluffy spanakopita (AED 48), creamy tzatziki (AED 38), and generously portioned grilled meats and seafood. The whole grilled sea bream (AED 155) rivals what you'd pay twice as much for at the Marina's Greek spots. The Walk is the lifeblood of JBR — a pedestrian promenade running the full length of the development, lined with café terraces, restaurants, and a few genuinely outstanding dining rooms. The people-watching is excellent. The dining quality ranges from exceptional to tourist-trap, so navigation matters.

The finest restaurant at JBR and one of Dubai's best steakhouses. STK takes the classic American steakhouse format and injects it with energy, a killer cocktail programme, and an outdoor terrace that buzzes on weekend evenings. The USDA prime cuts are exceptional — the 400g Tomahawk (AED 595) is theatrical and utterly delicious. The starters are more than afterthoughts: the tuna tartare (AED 125) and crispy parmesan truffle fries (AED 75) are standout. Go for a long Thursday evening — cocktails on the terrace at 7pm, dinner inside at 8:30pm.

The MAINE Oyster Bar & Grill
A New York-New England brasserie transplanted to the Dubai coast, and the fit is surprisingly natural. The MAINE does one thing above all others: oysters. A rotating selection of fresh oysters from multiple origins (AED 28–45 each) served with classic mignonette or The MAINE's own housemade hot sauce. The New England clam chowder (AED 68) is the best in Dubai — thick, cream-laden, buttery. For mains, the lobster roll (AED 195) and the whole Maine lobster (market price, usually AED 320–480) are the reason regulars return weekly.

Bosporus Turkish Restaurant
Bosporus is JBR's most beloved restaurant for families and groups — a sprawling, welcoming Turkish restaurant that has fed half of Dubai's expat population at some point. The meze selection is superb: smoky baba ganoush (AED 38), garlicky hummus (AED 35), crispy börek (AED 48). Mains lean on the grill: the mixed kebab platter (AED 145 per person) is a reliable feast. The outdoor terrace on The Walk hosts some of the neighbourhood's liveliest Friday night scenes, complete with Turkish music and a genuinely warm atmosphere.

Budget Dining at JBR
JBR has excellent budget options that many visitors miss in favour of the terrace restaurants. Operation Falafel on The Walk (AED 40–80 per person) serves genuinely outstanding Lebanese street food: falafel wraps (AED 22), manakish (AED 28–45), and fresh juices. The queue at lunch is long for a reason. Eggspectation at The Beach (AED 80–140 per person) is the area's best casual breakfast and brunch spot — enormous portions, American-café style, sea-facing terrace.
Splendido — The JBR Fine Dining Dark Horse
Splendido at the Ritz-Carlton JBR is often overlooked in favour of more glamorous names elsewhere on The Walk, but it belongs in any serious JBR dining conversation. The Italian kitchen is genuinely accomplished — handmade pasta (AED 145–195), grilled branzino (AED 245), and a tiramisu (AED 82) that's built on technique rather than nostalgia. The setting is elegant without being stiff, and the service has the Ritz-Carlton polish without the stuffiness. Budget AED 350–550 per person with wine.

Getting to JBR
The nearest Metro station is Jumeirah Lakes Towers (Red Line), about a 12-minute walk to The Beach via Marina Walk. Taxis drop directly on The Walk. From Dubai Marina, a pleasant 15-minute walk along the waterfront connects the two neighbourhoods — highly recommended on a cool evening.
