Business Bay has one enormous advantage over every other Dubai neighbourhood when it comes to date nights: verticality. No other area in the city lets you sit in a restaurant on the 70th floor, look out at a panoramic Dubai skyline, and eat burrata that would make someone in Rome jealous. Add to that some genuinely dramatic dining rooms at ground level โ the geometric golden screens at Qbara, the greenery-draped terrace at Treehouse โ and Business Bay offers date-night settings that are genuinely hard to top.
We've taken dates to all of these. This is what we learned โ what to book, how far in advance, what to order to look knowledgeable, and which restaurants will have your date texting friends "you won't believe where I am right now."
The Best Date Night Restaurants in Business Bay, Ranked
Fi'lia โ SLS Dubai
There is no restaurant in Business Bay more likely to produce a second date than Fi'lia. Chef Sara Aqel's Italian Mediterranean kitchen is exceptional โ the burrata, the handmade pasta, the wood-fired seafood are all genuinely great. But the setting is what elevates this to something special: a window table on the 70th floor with the Burj Khalifa directly ahead, the whole of Dubai laid out below, and a dining room that feels like something from a film. Book a window booth when you call โ they'll know why you're asking. Arrive 20 minutes early for a cocktail at the adjacent bar and let the view do the work.
Qbara
If Fi'lia is date night in the sky, Qbara is date night in the depths of the Arabian night โ and it is magnificent. The dining room is one of Dubai's most beautiful: black lacquered walls, intricate geometric gold screens filtering the light, brass tableware, candles everywhere. It's theatrical without being kitsch. And the food โ slow-cooked lamb shoulder (AED 285 for two), mezze spreads (AED 165), smoked aubergine that arrives still trailing woodsmoke โ earns its setting completely. Take someone who appreciates Arabic cuisine or wants to discover it.
High Society โ The Lana
The Lana is the most quietly glamorous hotel in Business Bay, and High Society on floor 30 is its jewel. Jean Imbert's Michelin-starred sensibility produces a menu of beautiful small plates โ light, technically precise, French in soul but Dubaian in ambition. The Champagne trolley will be rolled to your table and you should say yes. The view of the Burj Khalifa, framed perfectly through the floor-to-ceiling windows, is almost unreal at night. This is the restaurant you book when you want someone to feel truly spoiled.
Treehouse โ Taj Dubai
Treehouse delivers outdoor date-night magic that the indoor sky-high restaurants can't compete with. The rooftop terrace is genuinely lovely โ Edison bulbs strung through thick greenery, wicker furniture, a direct sightline to the Burj Khalifa, and a crowd that's dressed up and in a good mood. The Mediterranean sharing plates are designed for two people to eat slowly: hummus and kofta, grilled fish, vegetable mezze, cocktails that keep coming. Book the terrace specifically (not the indoor section) and request a corner table if you can get one.
๐๏ธ The Perfect Business Bay Date Night โ Evening Planner
Pre-dinner drinks at ROKA Terrace
Start at ROKA's outdoor terrace for Japanese-inspired cocktails (AED 65โ80) as the sun sets over the canal. The Burj Khalifa turns golden and the terrace is at its best. No reservation needed for drinks.
Dinner at Fi'lia or Qbara
For the sky-high Italian experience: Fi'lia, floor 70 (book 2โ3 weeks ahead). For drama and atmosphere at street level: Qbara's Arabian night dining room. Both will take 2โ2.5 hours.
Nightcap at Treehouse or The Eloquent Elephant
If you didn't dine at Treehouse, end your evening there for cocktails with Burj Khalifa views (AED 60โ80 per drink). The Eloquent Elephant at Taj Dubai is the more relaxed option.
Canal walk along the Dubai Water Canal
End the evening with a stroll along the Dubai Water Canal. At night, with the towers reflected in the water and the city humming around you, Business Bay is genuinely beautiful. No reservation required.
Budget Date Night: Romantic Under AED 400 for Two
Romance doesn't require a AED 1,000 bill. These options deliver atmosphere and excellent food without the fine-dining premium.
Rรผya โ Anatolian Date Night
Rรผya's dark, intimate dining room and extraordinary Anatolian sharing plates (the lahmacun at AED 65, the slow lamb rump at AED 195) make for one of Business Bay's most interesting date nights. You'll spend the whole dinner talking about the food.
ROKA Terrace โ Japanese Sharing Plates
Book the ROKA terrace for golden-hour dining โ the black cod (AED 145), wagyu skewers (AED 95), and rock shrimp tempura (AED 89) are perfectly designed for two people sharing. The view, the cocktails, and the robatayaki smoke create an atmosphere that's genuinely romantic.
The Maine โ Relaxed & Unpretentious
For a date that doesn't want to try too hard, The Maine delivers: great burgers, excellent cocktails, a buzzing atmosphere that's warm rather than formal, and zero judgment about what you order. The lobster mac and cheese (AED 145) is always a good choice.
The single most important booking decision: request a window table when you call Fi'lia or Prime68. Both restaurants have limited window seating and it makes an enormous difference to the experience. Call โ don't book online โ and ask specifically. Follow up the day before. It's worth it.
